MUSIC

Blake Lafita’s discography is an eclectic mixed bag recorded in bedrooms, closets, living rooms, porches and gardens. Ranging from soothing acoustic atmospheres of the genesis album, “Currents”, to the mind-melting swelter of avant-garde that is “Jazz for Your Guru”, the collection of music offers a journey to unique worlds of sound and imagination with each release. Having not just an experimental relationship with music, he also feels a poignant sense of humanitarian responsibility to make music addressing this divisive age. He has released songs such as “Peace Piece”, a cover of a jazz ballad standard for Black Lives Matter in 2020, and will be releasing on June 14 his first folk song, "Ain’t It the Way You Feel Every Day”, a protest song about the war in the middle east and America’s social conundrum regarding it.
